Shikimori's style on date episodes is alway a sight to behold. She ain't a princess today. She the prince!

Overall, as a manga reader, I felt like this adaptation left a bit to be desired, but I still had fun. Really hope that anime doesn't put people off trying the manga though. It's actually quite good.

Really loved the boat scene with the entire romantic atmosphere which was set up in the park...
Izumi being the aggressive one instead of Shikimori was refreshing to watch
Overall, when all is said and done, I personally enjoyed this season

Shikimori, I liked her a lot as a Waifu! It wasn't the best romcom I've watched but it has some Nice and funny moments. Thank God while the episodes progressed, they stopped exaggerating with the jokes about Izumi bad luck. Two of the episodes I really enjoyed was festival episodes, the first one cause Izumi and Shikimori had a great moment "alone" (Izumi's parents were there 2) and the second because of Hachimitsu development 😁.

Shikimori San was my heart this season , well i guess that's there all is there to it, ,its kinda sad to watch the anime fall apart without a proper story and become just boring sometimes , still Shikimori San is , will be remembered for the character she really is and ofc she will be a dream for single weebs like me .. (i feel pathetic saying that for me) But I'll really praise another character that just gave some life to the show.. and ofc it's Kamiya .. instead of her there would be no plus points to this show except shikimori.. So i really loved Shikimori San even though i couldn't establish enough points cz the show didn't meet our expectations. But thats fine , I'll just give it a 7.5/10 for shikimori and kamiya.. You will be missed Shikimori, and you will always be my dream waifu

They carried the guy that always gets a bad luck

Bad luck or clumsiness? Good girlfriend, family, and friends who love you and want to be friendly without taking advantage of you, and you called those bad luck? There're other characters who got it worst but never brag or call themselves bad or worst luck instead they working hard. The world ain't runs for only one person and he's no exception. If he didn't forget to take a picture, he would has several pictures already, got a VIP class table instead of ordinary table, the guy proposed her not to worry about him but refuse to work out to be stronger to at least take care of himself but wait for people to babysit him instead just like in the end of episode. Ngl, Shikimori will work for him like a sugar mommy in the future. The guy just gonna act cute until he dies.

Same sentiments. I loved the manga, and it's overall enjoyable. But I do agree that the anime really felt flat, and it was just worse. Oh well, I still really like the series nonetheless.

In what way was it worse? Do they not display the relationship properly? Were there important parts left out? Did they show the personalities wrong? Just wondering in what direction the manga goes before actually reading it myself

We all know who wears the pants in that relationship. He's totally her bottom.

However, if we're going by Doga Kobo standards, this is underwhelming. Despite how bad Osamake was, it DID get people talking....and that cringe dance scene....plus Gotoubun stars Matsuoka, Inori Minase, and Ayane Sakura voicing the three leads is the show's saving grace.
With this, let's be honest, they've put out better anime.

I agree 100% the manga was a lot better, something about the anime just really struggled to keep my attention and if it wasn’t for Hachimitsu I might not have even finished it XD

Izumi is a lucky guy to has Shikimori by his side. No other girls really want to stand by his side after they know how much of a wimp and waiting to be babysit he is.

yup i totaly agree i might check out the manga to see if there is a part that lead to there confession of initially going out I'm kind of interested in how that happened with Izumi being this way over all :D

It was actually already showed in previous episodes.

While there are some nice moments in this anime, I'm overall quite disappointed with this series as it felt like a show for little kids with all these clichéd tropes (especially how Izumi behaves). It was just very cringy even for a shounen romcom, at least for me.

So, could you tell me if the manga is more "mature"? I might actually read the manga if that's the case since I actually quite like Shikimori's traits.

I do think the manga is better (not sure about more “mature,” but I did find the series more charming while reading), but if you can’t stand Izumi in the anime then I doubt you’d have a different opinion of him in the manga.

If you mean whether it’s been licensed by a publisher in the West then I believe it has. The reason I sought clarification is because each country has its own publishers, so whether or not it has been “localized” depends on what country you live in.

yh as a manga reader also i understand what you mean ..my best part in this whole series was the sport festival race when they won omg i smiled so much tears came out it was just too wholesome ..i really enjoyed this series 9/10 only because we didnt get a proper kiss😭😭😭

It's average. I had high hope when people hyped it up way back then, now i think it's overated and full of disappointment. Especially, when they always reminded me of TONIKAWA counterparts of Nasa and Tsukasa, which are totally polar opposite. MC literally has no character development asides from his relationship, acting cute, and still blame everything to "bad luck" as excuses while refuse to improve himself such as work out etc, just like people know that they're not good at study but refuse to study and lazed around while blame everything to "I'm born stupid." Even this last episode he said that to FMC "i want to be with you forever, so don't worry" and literally before the end, FMC literally protect him. Like dude, so you basically just want her to babysit you till the end until you die? Like why don't you study martial arts for reflection or work out for strength, so you can at least protect yourself or at least "try." Like if you're about to get hit by a car, you want your gf to get hit instead?

I've never read the manga, but tried the 1st episode. I was not exactly hooked.

It depends. The couple dynamic in this is very different than your typical romcom, and it also seems to be pretty polarizing among viewers. If you didn’t enjoy the first episode then I can’t guarantee you will enjoy the rest either, but honestly I recommend the manga over the anime for this one.

Well i don't know, do i like to be the hunter, i like smoothies and strawberry cakes, ¿does that mean i am less than a prince? Who knows... i enjoy watch romance shows more than anything, even more dramas with alot of crying plots. I do cry alot. Still i consider myself as an "Ouji".

After all of those delays this anime has been though along with Izumi's bad luck scenarios, this anime adapted the manga pretty well.

I really enjoyed the pure cuteness and wholesome love. Shikimori and izumi are definitely one of my favorite ship in spring season. I hope they will make a season 2 for this series because the story is far from finished.
